Container gardening has become the in thing nowadays because of its beauty and economy. A well decorated garden in various containers is a feast for the eyes. There are simple DIY suggestions and guides for container gardening. These are easy ways of creating your own garden with that personal touch which would make it distinctly different from the others.

First, you have to look for the right space for the urns to be put up. Select the different points in your garden that would make the containers visible as well as artistic. Pots needn’t be expensive ones. Even grocery bags, fruit juice cans, and egg shells can be used as urns for your garden. With a little bit of innovative thinking your garden could get a special look you have desired for years.

If you are planning to make a herb garden then look out for the sun first. Choose a place which gets the maximum sun throughout the day. Select a plastic grocery bag for the herbs you need every day. The colorful bags are a unique way of growing these herbs so all that is needed is good soil and a few holes in the bags to drain out the excess water. Make sure that the soil does not get drained so use a paper towel or tissue paper to trap the soil in. Slow release fertilizers are best for these.

Tomatoes are a favorite with all and the vegetable can be available throughout the year in your own garden. Just place the soil in a fiber glass paint bucket or a plastic pot. Tomatoes need a lot of soil so a clay pot may not be the right choice as they tend to break. The sunlight is another factor very important for the vegetable. Plenty of watering is required along with the fertilizers. Do try and select the variety that would not branch out much and bear fruits round the year.

Often the orange box is used as an urn for your gardening purpose. Just paint it in vibrant colors and plant the violets and pansies in it. Small flowering plants are best grown in them. The terrarium is yet another simple yet classic way of creating a jug garden. For cheaper stuff a visit to the flea market would do the trick. Glass bowls or even a goldfish bowl will be a good pot for small variegated variety that dose not need much sunlight. These look beautiful and are easy to maintain.

For a miniature gardens you can get yourself clamp shells and fill them with soil to plant ferns and moss. They add variety and wild beauty of the garden. A natural look amidst a well planned garden landscape is definitely a relief for the eyes.
