The Best Location in the Container – How to Arrange the Plants Based on Type and Size

Using different containers for the garden is in vogue today. For those of you who have limited space the container garden is the best option. It is important to find out the best location in the container garden – how to arrange the plants based on type and size. There are various types of pots and using a small space for gardening purposes is not a problem any longer. You can be more creative with the pots as they can be placed almost everywhere according to their size and shape. For the entrance to your house you could keep the hanging pots by the side of the door. Two pots on each side with colorful plants add glamour to the house.

For a small vegetable garden of your own the urn gardening is the only choice. Growing herbs and vegetables in different pots, boxes and buckets with the right soil and fertilizer can be a relaxing exercise. It is also very satisfying to see the plants bear fruits after the meticulous care that is taken.

The garden in pots looks best if the place is rightly chosen. The patio, balcony, driveway, can become more attractive with the well shaped containers containing fresh and colorful plants. For the driveway it is mainly the small shrubs in pots look good as they form a border.

For the steps to the doorway, the clamshell garden is most appropriate. Bunches of ferns, moss and other wild plants along the steps lend a natural look to the place. Jug garden is good for the larger areas too where the garden contains fountains or undulating landscape. Containers these days are made of ceramic, wood, plastic, mosaic, terracotta and even metal.

The window boxes are in these days. With small apartments to live in not much space is available for gardening. The window sill can be a good place to start a garden. The urn can easily be a wooden crate or smaller fruit boxes. Make sure that the sunlight is sufficient. Lighting the garden well is another important factor that enhances the look of the garden. Selecting the plants according to the color of the wall is desired in case of indoor plants. For a light room the vibrant colored plants would add life to it.

The plants need to be kept carefully. Selection of the location for a vegetable garden should definitely be made where there is strong sunlight. In case there isn’t much sunlight then a reflector could do the trick. Keeping the weather in mind, the plants should be kept in a lace where strong winds would not harm them.

Watering the plants is a must and has to be done regularly. Therefore keeping the water supply close to the plants is a wise decision before the planting is done.

I have always had large area in which to garden and I also garden in a greenhouse. But I am now moving to a new home with a much smaller yard and a wonderful enclosed patio area. A great deal of my gardening will be in pots, much of it veggies, so this information is invaluable.
Once I get settled, I will send photos of my plantings.
Thanks for this, and Happy New Year!
